Synopsis: Three young space miners recover a small survival pod adrift in space. They discover the pod contains a furry little humanoid-like toddler with strange hands and feet, silvery curls, and a minute horn in the center of her forehead. The prospectors name her Acorna and soon learn that their fledgling has magical powers.

Review: The young Acorna constantly astonishes her "uncles" with her amazing growth rate and superior intelligence. It is not long before they uncover that she has the ability to purify air and water, to make plants grow and to heal injuries with her horn.

When the asteroid miners Gil, Rafik and Calum return to the their planet they quickly have to retreat when menacing scientists try to commandeer Acorna away in order to study her. With some help from sympathizers, the prospectors manage to jettison Acorna away to the planet Kezdet. Kezdet is a known cover for all sorts of criminals, villians, cheats, con men, and thieves. It is a place where questions are not asked however they also soon find that Kezdet secretly deals in child slave labor.

Acorna is determined to stop this practice and uses her talents. Unfortunately some unsavory intergalactic inhabitants are determined to manipulate her powers for their own use. This tale has fast-paced action, a lingering sense of peril, while also having a heaping dose of hilarity as the three "uncles" try to keep a reign on and protect their little charge. This is the first of a series of outerspace quests that take Acorna in pursuit to find her people and their world.
