Review: Aljan, son of Korr, called Firebringer and prince of the Vale unicorns, has seen years of peace after the first conflict with the wyverns. The Prince watches his herd very carefully should any danger threaten. He watches out especially for his twin offspring, a filly named Aiony and her brother Dhatter. Being seers, dancers and singers, his progeny bring to light a very interesting secret. Aljan Firebringer cannot be hurt by the sting of any serpent. With his blood to protect them, the herd could finally fulfill Alma's prophecy, to retake the Hallow Hills. Their newfound friends, the gryphons, say they will assist them in winning back the hills in exchange for the Vale.

After an agreement is reached and song stories are shared, they dispers to make plans. The unicorns thought that with Alma's guiding hand they would have no problems in what was sure to be a great and mighty battle. When Korr, Aljan's father looses his sanity and flees the herd, Aljan begins the greatest trek of his life and his people begin the greatest trial in their long history.

Aljan must find out his fathers' dark secret and the source of his insanity, before it's too late for both of them. And their people, under the command of Tek, the Prince's mate, must attempt to win back their ancient homeland. Can they succeed in their quests? Only the turning of the pages will tell. I give it 2 horns up!
