Review:
Tribune Marcus Scaurus and his three cohorts were no match for the greater force of Northern Gauls that had surrounded them. At last, Marcus and the Gaul chieftain Viridovix agreeded a duel, neither realizing what would happen when their similiar, bespelled swords crossed. One moment, they were in Gaul, and the next, they found themselves under alien skies. The magic in the weapons had brought Marcus, what remained of his cohorts, and Viridovix to the Empire of Videssos, a place very different from all they had known.
The Misplaced Legion was a wonderfully written story. Like other books by Harry Turtledove, it enwrapped you in a what if, while crossing you to a parallel universe. What disapointed me the most, is now I have to go find the next two books in the series, so I know what happens to the Romans.
