When Veralidaine Sarrasri, called Daine, came to HorseTrader Onua, she was a sad, quiet girl with nothing but a horse and the packs on it's back. But with her animal friends, she is a transformed person; outgoing, happy and in both cases, stubborn as a mule.
Daine proves herself to Onua very quickly and has a job that will take her to the far reaches of the Realm. Onua soon finds out that her charge has a lot more going for her than just knowledgeof ponies and horses. Daine seems to have a special gift for handling animals, one that Onua diesn't quite understand. There is also something about the girl thatis very familiar to Onua. After a fierce battle with creatures called StormWings, and the odd rescue of an injured balck hawk, Onua finally realizes what she's been sensing in Daine. Magic! And thus begins the most dangerous and trying part of her life. Want to know more about what happens to Daine? I sure did, I couldn't put the book down. It was mesmerizing abd I'm sure you'll love it too. I give it 3 claws up!
