Review:
This book is volume two of the Dragonlance Chronicles, and is part of the Dragonlance Saga. The book is based on the continued adventures of the Companions, who travel about Ansalon, fighting the evil armies of the Queen of Darkness, Takhisis.
After having battled the forces of Takhisis, the companions set out to further drive back the Dark Queen. They journey to the fabled city of Tarsis the Beautiful, where they plan to sail across the sea in the White Winged Ships. But what they find at Tarsis is far more than they expected. They once again must escape the Armies of Darkness, and travel across Ansalon to find the one object that can destroy the evil dragons: The Dragonlance. But when they meet a strange, silver-haired girl, they learn far more than they could ever have imagined. Based on Dragons of Autumn Twilight, and set in a world based on the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game, this book combines both action and story telling to form one of the six greatest Dragonlance novels ever written. (All five of the others are sequels to this book.) This book was well written, with good character development, a smooth, flowing plot, and character motivation that is far beyond most other books in its genre. Although it is sixteen years old, this book will capture the attention of readers of any age, and is still available in reprints, and also in compendiums of all three chronicles. Amazon and Ebay both have this book appearing on their sites from time to time, and may even have the originals.
