The TARDIS crash lands in Sweden after an encounter with a wormhole. Can the Doctor prevent the wormhole being used as an invasion route to Earth? A fair effort, with a reasonable story line, good characterisation, and well described locations. It's not a Doctor Who novel that will set the world on fire but nonetheless a pleasant read. The TARDIS is incapacitated early on and the Doctor's anguish over this is well portrayed. It demonstrated that the TARDIS is far more than simply a spaceship and it's symbiotic bond to the Doctor is cleanly drawn. In criticism, some characters are built up and then thrown away, which seems to be something of a waste. The Doctor himself, whilst in general being well written, occasionally wavers and becomes less recognisable. However, the book is good and overcomes these flaws.
