The Doctor, Fitz and Compassion visit a bizarre museum, where they discover a relic from the past that shouldn't esits. They decide to investigate...

A book heavy on scientific theory and a book that reveals more of the coming war that the Time Lords will fight. There are enemies aplenty, various ongoing plotlines and, of course, extreme danger for the Doctor. The character of Homunculette returns from "Alien Bodies", though it is almost unregognisable as the same character.

The book, whilst having good points, was confusing at times, with the authors seeming to be more concerned at times with showing off their scientific knowledge than servicing the plot. However, the closing scenes are satisfying and neatly done.
