Lara Croft: Tomb Raider -if you liked the movie, you'll probably like this book. I enjoyed the movie because it was action packed, and, well, interesting. Anyhow, here it goes.

During the night of the alignment of the planets, Lara Croft hears a clock ticking and investigates it. The clock is camoflauge, and Lara rips through the camoflauge and discovers an ancient artifact within the clock called the magic clock. It's an eye within a triangle. The story on it is like this.

Thousands of years ago, a meteor struck the earth. It wasn't just any meteor, there was something unique about it. The people discovered a crystalized slab of metal. The tribes and leaders believed that this was a gift from the gods. They worshiped this slab of metal for it's amazing powers. According to the legend, the sick became well, the foolish became wise, and the wise more inspired. The king, who recognised the power in this crystalized slab of metal, ordered it to be formed into a triangle, which was a sacred shape. For 100 days and nights, noise of hammers, fires, and bellows were heard through the night. After that, the slab of metal had been formed into a perfect shape of a triangle.

The king himself engraved an eye on that triangle. Their civilization flourished, and it was called The People Of The Light. Barbarians became jealous, and revolted against this group of people. They attacked the city and everything turned to hell. The food and water became scarce, disease spread, and fires raged. Only a miracle could save the city then. The high priest prayed to the heavens to save this city, proclaiming, "Let my enemies be vanquished!" and a blinding flash of light destroyed the enemies. Death was everywhere. Then the High Priest realized that the power of the triangle was not to be held by men. It was power of the gods, and it belonged to the gods.

Therefore, he concluded that the triangle must be destroyed. But the triangle resisted all the attempts to destroy it. The High Priest ordered it to be cut into two pieces. One half would stay at the temple, and the other half would be scattered across the earth so that the pieces could never be joined again. But the craftsman did not agree with the High Priest. They created a device that would serve as a guide to finding the other piece of the triangle and would preserve the triangle's power for the future generations to come.

It was the magic clock, made by the Illumanati. The descendants of this group swore to stop time itself and bring their ancestors back to life, but it required that the exact allignment of the planets to activate this power once again, which would not be for another five thousand years.

Now that Lara has the magic clock, she is a target for a group of evil men. They are the descendants of the Illumanati, and they have come to take the magic clock and join the two pieces of the triangle once again, at the moment of the allignment. These men will not stop to fulfill their promise to their ancestors. Now Lara must stop this group of evil men from gaining this amazing power before it's too late...

It's a good book! I liked it because it was action packed, just like the movie. That's my style of book. The plot of this book would not be true according to my religion, but I understand that this is fiction and I find it amusing. Therefore I give it a rating of 4.
