Fresh Bones is an X Files novel written by Les Martin, based on a Teleplay by Howard Gordon. Jack McAlphin was a man who had had everything going for him. A model Marine, with a wife and a son who he loved very much. That is, until he wrapped his car around a tree as he smashed his rear-view mirror. Not to mention the fact he saw things that weren't there, including the face that lead him to his death. So, his wife contacted FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the hope that perhaps they could help her find out the real reason her husband had died. She insisted her husband was not suicidal, but rather he was murdered with the work of Voodoo. And she wasn't the only one who believed it. Voodoo was indeed at work at the Folkstone Procsessing Center, Mulder was certain of that, but now he had to prove it... Fresh Bones is the sixth of the novelizations done by Les Martin. I picked up the book from a recycle bin, and I must admit suspicion of how it would read. But it turned out better than I suspected. Though short, it was amazingly well written, and read like I was watching an X-Files episode. In fact, other than the fact it was short I loved the book.
