Synopsis:Jeff Vlaming bases The Hungry Ghost on the X Files episode ‘Hell Money’ created by Chris Carter.

A security guard heard noises and found three figures in long black gowns with white masks, and the next second, the figures are gone. Mulder and Scully are in San Francisco’s China Town, where the local police have found a body in a crematorium they think was put in there alive. It is the third body which has been found in this city in the last year. It also it the eleventh body which Mulder has heard of to be found in different cities.

Review: Scully examines the victims body. It is clear to the eye that he died of his burn wounds. Mulder is taking a look at the surroundings and finds a Chinese character in the oven. Lieutenant Neary, who is leading the investigation, asks his officer Glen Chao to translate it. It is the character for ghost.

Again we have an interesting X-file: no aliens and no government conspiracy this time. But a Chinese game, which can change the lives of the Chinese immigrants who play it: the winner can get rich and solve a lot of problems or he can lose his life bit by bit. Those who have seen the episode must know the story by now. The book is very easy to read, just as the rest of this series.

The Truth is out there...and in here
