Synopses: An old Centauri named Londo Mollari is telling Luc, Lyssa and their nanny Senna a story: a story with heroes and villains, a story with adventures and romance, a true story. He is telling them about events which our Prime Minister has been in. How the war started between the Humans and the Minbari, and how it ended.
Review: John Sheridan declines a position upon a starship, which is going on a mission to the Minbari. The first mission, and his captain to be is not praised by his abilities to act during a first contact mission. Sheridan seems to have chosen right; the captain shot first and started a great war. A war where humankind has little changes: where the Minbari will kill every last Human. Sherridan doesnít believe that an enemy canít be defeated. He even manages to hit back, but all seems in vain. The Humans are running out of time.
Delenn is given the opportunity to join the Grey council, which is a big honor. She is there when they are all reminded about the great treat of the Shadows. But none seem to be willing to believe in that old legend any more. She manages to get a small party out to investigate. On that mission they find the humans, first contact, and they fired first. They attacked the Minbari while they gave them no reason to. Their great leader dies in the attack and Delennís has the final vote on if they should go to war or not. How she would regret her decision later on, after she learned the future from the Ambassador Kosh.
Great book, told mostly by Mollari, who some times wanders to other events which can be quit annoying, but does the trick. It is a great way to start a new series telling how it all started with this war, and what became of it. There are a few characters introduced, who have a small part in this book, but who have a bigger part in the story of Babylon 5. The last space station build to maintain galactic peace. People have dreams, such dreams, and some do get what they wish for.
