If you thought the first two were good, read The Bourne Ultimatum, the best of the series IMHO.

David Webb, formally known as Jason Bourne, is happily living in Maine, teaching Oriental History and being husband to Marie and father to their son. All is well, he has his life back and all the bad things that have happened to him in the past are finally over. Or Not!

The story is finally out. Jason Bourne is the creation of Medusa. During the Viet Nam war, a rogue soldier needed to be eliminated and David Webb did the job and assumed his identity. The men left over from Nam who were complicit in black market drugs and dealings are still around and will do anything to protect the empire they built and still survives. David Webb/Jason Bourne is a threat and must be eliminated.

And, to make matters worse, Carlos the Jackel, the most notorious terrorist and assassin of the age, is still alive and at large and still searching for Jason Bourne. Not only was Bourne created to silence the Viet Nam problem, he was also the instrument devised to hunt down and eliminate Carlos. Both The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy focused on the memories of Jason/David, what drove him, who controlled him, how he survived and what he accomplished in order to re-build his life after living under deep cover for so many years.

Every time David and Marie think that the story is over, something else happens that brings it all back, and this time, it is back with a vengence. David has a wife and a child to protect, and Carlos is sending a message, in no uncertain terms, that he wants Jason Bourne dead.

Again, the Medusa organization has its dirty hands in the mess, Alex Conklin and Mo Panov try to keep thinggs under wraps and in control, but when David reverts to Jason in order to protect his family, all bets are off.

Again, the reader is taken on a whirlwind journey around the world with Jason/David as he tracks and is tracked by Carlos, the last members of Medusa, and assorted hit men and assassins. How he manages to get into and out of all these situations are, once again, pure genius when Robert Ludlum writes Jason Bourne.

I really hope that they don't make a movie of this one - it was too good! Read this one after you finish the first two and you will really understand just how incredible an author Robert Ludlum was. He was the best of the best when it came to page turning, nail biting, no sleep international thriller/chillers!
