Unfortunately, there are some very high powered people in power who don't want that to happen. The Third Option refers to the last choice to solve a problem - assassination - and that is Mitch Rapp's forte' - the dilema is "when do we use it?" and against who??

Mitch and Anna Reilly are living together and she is not handling his job very well. As a reporter, she has to ask questions that he can't answer. And when he disappears unexpectedly, she is a wreck. Somehow, they are going to have to work thru this problem if their relationship is going to succeed.

Peter Cameron has a serious grudge against Mitch, and even with the help of his friends in the SEALS and the Orion Team, Mitch is a marked man who has to use every trick in his book to keep 2 steps ahead of hit teams, kidnappers, snipers and three Senators who want him very dead.

Throw into the mix the Mossad, The German Ambassador, a bad guy Mario Villaume, who may not be that bad, and Marcus Drummond, an old friend who shows up to help hack into anything that has bits and bytes, and a dog named Shirley, and you have one heck of a story.

Now then, to make matters even more interesting, Donatella Rahn, an assassin/operative controlled by the Mossad and an old lover of Mitchs' is involved, as are Senator Michael O'Roarke and his wife Liz (who we met in Term Limits) who is very pregnant, and we learn, is best friends with Ann Reilly. What a story Vince Flynn can weave when he brings in the big guns from previous books and then adds new ones we can either love or hate.

One of the best things about the book/books that Flynn writes is that eventuially the bad guys really get what they deserve in a manner that is so well executed, you can't help but smile over their demise, wether it is political embarassment, a shot to the head, or a well placed kick in the butt.

This one gets a 5 for all the players, the story and the action!
