First of all, Rosemary's Baby book can be disturbing and I don't recommend it to anyone superstitious!

The novel takes place in New York where Rosemary and Guy are looking for a flat. After a couple of weeks searching for the perfect place, they find one. They quickly befriend their neighbours Minni and Roman, an older couple who have earlier in their life lost a daughter.

After some time, Rosemary gets pregnant, she's overjoyed and so are her neighbours. Minni and Roman gives her a special drink that is to keep her and the baby healthy. The pregnancy doesn't run smoothly however, and Rosemary gets in touch with her doctor, she is however told not to worry and just take it easy.

Rosemary starts to feel that there is something evil in the air and stops digesting the drink her neighbours gave her, and along with that she gets a new feeling of being independant. Something her husband isn't too fond of, and he spends more time with the neighbours than at home.

Then it all unravels...

I wasn't crazy about this book, sure it had some chilling writing, but the stereotypes and one dimensional characters makes it a bit meak. However, If you're out for an old fashioned horror story, then this is a book for you!
