Throughout the course ofthe long-running series "Star Trek: The Next Generation", the crew of the Enterprise-D met three old counterparts from the first starship to bear the name Enterprise. Doctor, ahem, Admiral McCoy in "Encounter at Farpoint", Cap...Ambassador Spock in "Unification" and Captain Montgomery Scott in "Relics". These three old friends never got to meet in an episode, until now. In "Crossover", the surviving crew of the original Starship Enterprise face one of the greatest threats in their long careers. Ambassador Spock, who has been working on the Romulan/Vulcan reunification effort, has been taken prisoner along with several of his students on a Romulan colony world several light-years away from the relatively safe-haven of Romulus. In captivity, he and his students are to be executed as an example of traitorous crimes against the Empire. However, the Romulans don't know how great aprize they have, as they haven't uncovered who Spock really is. On the Enterprise-D, Captain Picard gets the urgent message from Commodore Edrich at Starfleet Intelligence, of Spock's capture. Because of Spock's former Starfleet career, it is prudent that they retrieve him from Romulan space before they find out who he is. An old man from Spock's past is sent to help in the negotiations - Admiral Leonard McCoy. formerly Dr. McCoy of the original Enterprise. Scotty, with all his genius,is able to crack the priority one codes that Starfleet Intelligence used to send Picard the message about Spock. And, of course, the old engineer gets a wild hair to do something so drastic that it just might work. He sets course for Starbase 178, and his destiny. The great bond of friendship reaches far beyond the farthest boundaries of space and time. In this brave and warm-hearted journey, old friends are reunited and new bonds are made in the quest to save Spock from the Romulans.
