Dilithium, the most valuable mineral in the galaxy. It powers the Federation's starships....and the Klingon's battlecruisers. Now, on the small isolated planet Direidi, the greatest fortune in dilithium crystals ever seen has been found.

Now, under the terms of the Organian Peace Treaty, the planet will go to the side best able to develop the planet and it's resources. Each side will contest the prize with the prime of it's fleet. For the Federation, Captain James T, Kirk and the starship Enterprise. For the Klingons, Captain Kaden vestai-Oparai and the Fire Blossom.

Only the Direidians are writing their own script for this contest. As soon as away teams beam down to the planet, they notice some things seem to be....odd. Not dangerous, or even unnerving, just unbelievably odd.

Now, if you're into the gut serious, action packed ST novel, this isn't for you. If you're in the mood for a few laughs and a well written book, then you're in luck. It's well written, has a good plot, and has a good pace.

Not a must have for the die-hard trek reader but still one I wouldn't miss.
