Star Trek's unique journey has spanned more than thirty years now, and over that time there have been more than five hundred episodes, more than five hundred hours of television time.

Most of the time, we think only of the action and the characters, and we don't pay much attention to the words, the basis of the show.

In popular culture, you can listen to television and every once in a while you'll hear someone make a joke about Star Trek, mostly saying something like "Beam me up Scotty!" or "Engage!". Those famous words have distilled themselves into our lives.

Recently I bought "Quotable Star Trek," a book with famous quotes from all the series and movies. At first I thought I'd recognize every single quote, and I took for granted how thick the book was. It's literally a wealth of information worth it's weight in gold-pressed latinum.

During the closing moments of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn", David Marcus looks to his father and says "Good words - that's where ideas begin." Look through the book and you'll find the wisdom that makes up a lot of the Star Trek mystique. Take it to heart and let it in. Anyone; it doesn't matter if you're a die-hard fan, or just someone who has seen only a dozen episodes; it's a great book for everyone.

There are chapters for "The Human Condition", "Love", "Peace and War", "Politics", "Freedom", and many more for a total of 32 different chapters full of over one thousand quotes from your favorite characters. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll have a smile. This book is a ten-pip book, but the review people will only let me do five!
