Synopsis: This book is the last in the X-Wing series, which was a great series to read. A planet called Adumar is going to pick a side to fight on: Rebel or Imperial.

Review: The planet Adumar has not chosen sides yet. Delegates from the New Republic and the Empire will have a chance to plead their government's case, respectivly. The Adumari people do not put a high value on life. They enjoy dueling with blast swords and in the cockpits of fighters. The Adumarii's definition of honor and dishonor are backwards. They think that honor is turning the competition into space dust and surviving. They also believe that dishonor is dying in combat.

They prize skill in military above everything else, and insist that both delegations consist of fighter pilots. Thus, Wedge Antilles and the rest of Rogue Squadron are sent ot Adumar. The Old Republic had Jedi, Adumar had fighter pilots.

Adumar is also big in the business of Proton Torpedo production. The New Republic would benefit greatly if they won Adumar - they would not run out of the torpedos for their snubfighters.

But Wedge is only a fighter pilot, not a diplomat. Once the Rogues arrive, they will be tested by Adumari warriors, who are happy to duel. They are attacked by Imperials, who are very eager to eliminate the competition. To add to their already high stack of problems, an agent is gaining information inside the Squadron, and is determined to win Adumar for the Imperials.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It probably was the best book in the entire X-Wing series, a very fitting end. There were no dull parts in this book. There was tons of action and duels that kept it exciting and interesting. There were also more humorous parts of this book that I enjoyed. Aaron Allston seems to have a rep of putting humor into his books. Bottomline, this one is a must read. Hope you enjoy it!

New Rogue Squadron Members:

Cheriss ke Hanadi: Cheriss is a young lady of about 15 who meets the Rogues on Adumar. She wields a blastsword and is very skilled with it. She almost dies during a duel, and later decides to join Rogue Squadron as a pilot and to give up blastsword dueling. She also "has the hots" for Wedge.
