Old Friends: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Emperor Palpatine, Wedge Antilles, Admiral Ackbar, Mon Mothma, R2-D2, C-3P0, Boba Fett Synopsis: Only days after Grand Admiral Thrawn's death at the Battle of Bilbringi, some surviving members of Emperor Palpatine's ruling circle attacked Coruscant together with six Starfleet Commanders. They managed to capture the planet. Then a civil war starts between the different factions of the Empire about who was going to be the next Emperor. The rebels started sending captured Star Destroyers to attack the feuding Imperials and spread confusion. Review: One of these raids fails. The Star Destroyer Liberator commanded by Luke Skywalker abd Lando Calrissian, is shot down over Coruscant. Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the droids are leading two Nebulon-B frigates to rescue the star destroyers crew. When they arrive, Imperials are fighting the rebels and each other. As they are evacuating, a powerful force storm appears. It hits the surface, and Luke knows that he must face the person that is controlling it. So he walks straight into it and disappears. Han and Leia arrive at the rebels new base, the moon Da Soocha V. They are told about the World Devastators - big machines that practically eat up a planet and makes new ships and weapons out of it. They are attacking MonCalamari, and Lando and Wedge Antilles receive command of another star destroyer, The Emancipator, which is to lead the attack on the World Devastators. Meanwhile, Luke is transported to a planet in the deep core called Byss. It is surrounded by Imperial warships. Luke is taken into a city on the planet where he meets the person who started the Force storm. It's Emperor Palpatine!! He didn't die at Endor. His spirit journeyed to Byss where his soul inhabited a clone. He has been gathering his forces the past six years, and is now ready to wipe out the rebels. The reason I bought this comic was because it seemed as if it was an important part of the Star Wars timeline, which is true. The story is really the only good thing about this comic. The drawings are ugly, one page, everything is blue, while on another, everything is red. The forewards, which are written by Kevin J. Anderson, describes the drawings as "exotic". Well, I think it's ugly! Some people may disagree, but that's my opinion. The battle descriptions and dialogue are strange, and they are not like they usually are in the Star Wars books and comics. This book doesn't deserve anything more than a weak 3.
