Old Friends: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Tenel Ka, Tionne

New Faces: Lowbacca, Em Teedee, Qorl, Raynar

Places: Yavin 4

Synopsis: The Solo twins are 14 years old and are studying on Luke’s Jedi Academy. A new Wookie Jedi learner has arrived on Yavin 4, and has already found friends in the form of Jacen, Jaina and Tenel Ka. The Jedi Academy is very different then Kashyyk. They have lessons in the force and still plenty of time for adventures.

Review:Jacen loves to find new creatures and study them. He has his own collection at the academy. Jaina has made cages for his pet animals. She likes to work on anything mechanical, and is working on improvements for the Jedi Academy. Raynar is more interested about his expensive robes and looking good in Master Skywalker classes.

Han Solo has brought more then the Wookie Lowbacca’s, he also brought a hyperdrive unit for Jaina to tinker with. Lowbacca has received a T23 from his uncle Chewie to keep him busy on the new planet. And Jaina has offered her help in assembling the T23. Han and Chewie have a meeting with Lando on the Gas giant.

It doesn’t take long for Lowie and Jaina to put the pieces together. Lowie sees a shiny object on the first test. The group of friends decides to investigate, and they find an old Tie fighter that has been shot down when the Death Star wanted to destroy the Rebel Base. And they decide to restore it, and keep it a secret from all the other. All goes well and they make good progress with all the replacement parts Jaina has been collecting. Then Jacen finds the old Tie fighter pilot who has been hiding in the jungle or all these years.

This book is a good teenager book with plenty of adventure and action. It story doesn’t slow down for a second. The new chapters seem to go back in time a bit after the group has broken up, so we know who’s doing what at the same time in the story. A fast reader might find this a little annoying, while the slow reader has plenty of time to get back in the story after he put the book down for the night. This is your change to learn about friendship and the ways of the Force.
