Synopsis: This is the first book of the "Young Jedi Knights" series. These books are suitable for the young adult. They are small, anywhere from 215-230 pages long. This book contained some humor that made me laugh alot.

Review: The book starts out as a regular day at the Jedi Academy. We are introduced to new characters that will be seen throughout most of this series.

Raynar: a troublesome yet enthusiastic Jedi student; Tenel Ka: a serious, impatient and muscular Jedi student who does not like to rely on the Force. Jacen makes it his goal to try to make her laugh with his jokes. Lowbacca is introduced later on in this story. He is Chewbacca's nephew and prefers to be called "Lowie" for short. To help translate his language to communicate with the others, Em Teedee is introduced. He is much like C-3P0, except in a much smaller form and he fits on Lowbacca's belt.

Lowbacca and Em Teedee, Tenel Ka, Jacen and Jaina go on a flight in a T-23. They go looking for artifacts from the Battle of Yavin 4, but they find a twenty-year old wreckage of an Imperial TIE fighter. Little do they know what is in store for them next. Seeking to make a flying craft for herself, Jaina decides to make repairs on it and get it operational. She also hopes to put a hyperdrive in it, the one her father Han, gave her.

But the pilot of this craft is still alive, and watching them, hoping to escape the planet and fight for the Imperials again, return for duty for the first time since the Battle of Yavin...

This book was good, I thought. Even for a small one. It was action packed too.It also raises questions in your mind - "How will they escape now?" I give this book a rating of 4.
