Synopsis: This is the second book in the Jedi Academy Series, and is the beginning of the Shadow Academy threat. Review: It all starts out as a learning experience about Gems. Jacen, Jaina, and Lowbacca go with Lando Calrissian to his Gemdiver station to learn how the Gems are mined. But soon, his station is attacked and the young Jedi Knights are kidnapped. Later, Luke Skywalker discovers that his former student, Brakiss, has grown strong in the dark side and is creating a training ground for Dark Jedi Knights. This training ground is the Shadow Academy. Brakiss has plans to turn the captured Jedi to the Dark Side of the Force, unless Tenel Ka and Luke Skywalker save them... Good book! Allways kept you thinking, "how in the galaxy are they going to get out of this now?" which maintained good interest throughout the book. I give this book a rating of 4.
