Synopsis: The Young Jedi Knights Series continues in this, the 3rd book. The series is made up of small books, 215-230 pages long, and they are mostly action packed. Perfect for the young adult reader.

Review: Jacen and Jaina receive a break in training. The twins use their time by going back to their homeworld, Coruscant, to visit their parents and some friends. One of those friends is an orphan named Zekk, who lives with a man named Peckhum. Zekk and Peckhum have been friends for years, ever since they met. Zekk lives by scavanging rare items throughout the underworld of Coruscant and selling them to people who need what he has to sell.

When invited to a diplomatic banquet by Jacen and Jaina, Zekk is unsure of himself. He never had any taste for formal clothes, or any knowledge of basic table manners. He eventually gets embarassed enough that he leaves the banquet and heads toward his home, only to be kidnapped by a group of people and taken to a Sith Master named Brakiss. Brakiss sees potential in Zekk and wants to help him by giving him power - more power than his Jedi friends have. Brakiss presents Zekk with a path that might not be so bad in the eyes of jealousy - The Dark Side. Meanwhile, the Shadow Academy and the Second Imperium are still on the rise to restore their former glory...

This book maintains a good level fo intensity throughout the story, which kept it alive the entire way through it. In that way, it was enjoyable. I give this book a rating of 4.
