Review: The Jedi Praxeum is now vulnerable. The only Jedi Masters left to hold up the illusion are Kam Solusar, his wife Tionne, and The ancient Master Ikrit. Luke Skywalkwer has foolishly called a meeting of the Jedi on Coruscant instead of Yavin 4 and he and Kyp Durron are at it again. Kyp thinks the Jedi need to mount a full scale attack on the Yuuzhan Vong. Most agree with him, including Anakin Solo. Without his uncle's consent, Anakin takes his X-wing to Yavin to try and foil a Peace Brigade invasion. When he arrives he sees a ship in orbit and attempts to shoot it down but only alerts it's Peace Brigade playmates. Anakin lands and is met by Kam, and his childhood friend Tahiri. Anakin, Kam, Tionne, Tahiri, and Ikrit devise a plan of hiding in the jungle until the help Master Skywalker arranged for comes. Talon Karrde is several days from Yavin. Anakin Agrees to stay behind and fool the Peace Brigade with the help of Ikrit. Tahiri, Valin Horn, and Sannah think they can help too. The Jedi highjacked a Peace Brigade ship and started to run but were shot down. Tahiri was captured trying to save Ikrit and taken to the Shapers. The Yuuzhan Vong shaper Mezhan Kwaad and her adept Nen Yim are given the task of shaping the Jedi into a Yuuzhan Vong. The shapers have always followed certain protocols when shaping, but Kwaad and Yim see no need to follow protocol and will pay for it later. I really liked this book. It was full of surprises. I thought it was cool how the shaping process was described. This book gets a 5 from me because it is the second best New Jedi Order book. Dark Tide Ruin is the best.
