Synopsis: In the days of the Old Republic, before the threat of the Phantom Menace, the Jedi Council guides the Jedi Knights as defenders of peace and justice throughout the galaxy. When a brutal conflict arises, two Jedi are dispatched by Council member Mace Windu and presented a new challenge: the treacherous Yinchorri. When only the Jedi's mutilated bodies return from the mission, Mace realizes how greatly he has underestimated this new foe: the volatile Yinchorri are immune to Jedi mind control. As this grave mistake weighs heavily on Mace, the challenge now lies before the Council: how can they battle a violent enemy that has no fear of the Jedi Kinghts, as it gathers weapons that threaten the stability of the Republic.

Review: I won't say much, I don't want to spoil.

Mace makes three groups of Jedi, and their mission is to find the secret base of operations of the Yinchorri. The first group: Saesee Tiin, Gui-Gon Jinn, Oni-Wan Kenobi and Mace himself go to Yinchorr, the homeworld. The second group: Adi Gallia, Eet Koth, Tsui Choi and Theen Fida go to the waterworld Yitheeth; there they are ambushed but they manage to escape and capture an important Devaronian. The Third group: Plo Koon, Micah Giiett, Lilit Twoseas and K'Kruhk go to the gas planet Yibikkoror. During their flight to the Yinchorri system all the Jedi are ambushed by Yinchorri fighters. Plo Koon's ship gets badly damaged and crashes on Yibikkoror. The others make it safely to their destinations. Adi Gallia and her group rescue Plo Koon abd his crew. Meanwhile, Mace and his group are trapped on the Yinchorri homeworld.

The story is nice, and the short appearances by Darth Sidious and Darth Maul, no matter how short they are, make you understand the story even more. I also liked the characters, especially Micah Giiett, a good friend of Plo Koon and a Jedi Council member (Ki-Adi Mundi took his place when he died...err...oops, spoiler, sorry).

The art. When I first opened the comic I thought:"Dude! Mace looks like Lobengula from my Starship Troopers comics!" And yes, this comic is also drawn by Davide' Fabbri. His art is excellent! Not too much detail, not too much shadow, just plain and simple art without annoying little details. And the coloring was great too: these bright colors abd not much shadows are very nice! You can easily see what happens on a picture.

Overall, this is an excellent comic and I was happy to add it to my collection (although I was looking for another Tales of the Jedi comic.)
