Old Friends: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Tahl, Yoda, Mace Windu, Bant Synopsis: Six years ago, Tahl and Qui-Gon were sent to Apsolon to help the government become stable and help promote peace. Now against, Qui-Gon's personal wishes, Tahl returns to New Apsolon in order to help the two daughters of the late Supreme Govenor who are in distress. But a vision that Qui-Gon has continues to haunt him. Now, against the wishes of the Council and Tahl's own wishes, he goes to New Apsolon along with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Qui-Gon must also face the truth about his feelings. Review: Personally, "The Ties That Bind" is so far, personally. one of my favorite in the series. Filled with deciet, mystery, love, anger, and frienship, Jedi Apprentice #14 takes you to a planet where peace is on the edge of coruption and fighting. Three groups are the cause for this unbalanced planet. The Civilized, a large group of people, basically the rich and political part of the planet's population. The Workers, the lower part of the city, yet the larger part of the population. Then there are The Absolutes, who now are an illegal operation living underground, who once tortured and killed those in The Workers group. While trying to track down a murder and kidnappers of the late Supreme Governor and his daughters, Alani and Eritha; Qui-Gon finally realizes his true feelings for Tahl. Yet, a meeting -that was intended to promote peace on the planet- turns out untruthful and full of deciet. Now, we must wait for the next book in the series to find out what happens to Tahl and to bring an end to the mystery and deciet.
