Old Friends: Shimrra, Nom Anor, Onimi, Mal Lah, Pwoe, Thrackan Sal-Solo,Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Corran Horn, Sabe Sebatyne, Krefey, Farlander,Alema Rar, Zekk, Tahiri Veilla, Kyp Durron, Jagged Fel, Lowbacca, Tesar Sebatyne, Capo. New Faces: Snayd, Dagga Marl, Mdimu, Tigran Jamiro, Lilla Dade. Places: Yuuzan'tar, Kashyyk, Peace City, Ylesia. Synopsis: Thrackan Sal-Solo wants to make a deal with the Yuuzan Vong so he will rule over the Correlian sector. The Yuuzan Vong however have their own plans and instead of excepting Trackan's plans. make him President of Ylesia and Commander in Chief of the Peace Brigade. Now everyone will know that he is cooperating with the Yuuzang Vong, which will also make it harder for Thrackan to survive this war, let alone get power. Review: Thrackan might have had the nice plan of working beside the Yuuzan Vong while now he is working for him. A thing that he doesn't like, but is forced to do. This is a big setback; it made his plans fall apart and staying alive even harder. He hires a bodyguard named Dagga Marl and has his enemies close, but his so-called friends even closer. Master Durron has come up with a plan that involves showing that you can't oppose the New Republic without being punished. He and Admiral Kre'fey are planning to go to Ylesia to set an example using the Peace Brigade. Jaicen doesn't like the plan which involves a bombardment from orbit to keep the own troopers safe, but will kill a lot of innocent people. He suggests to take capture the government of Ylesia, their trials will be on the Holonet for weeks or months, and therefore will not easily forgotten. This plan will have a few squadrons and capital ships to secure the landing for the ground troops, a plan that has plenty of room for setbacks. Maybe it's the length of the story, maybe it's just that I don't like the story. Why you might wonder? I normally like every Star Wars story but this one in my eyes is lacking a good story, new facts and I wonder if the writer had a good look at the character's profile. The thing I kind of like here is that we finally see Jacen make up his mind about his place in this war. But we didn't need this story to find that out. The other point here is that they once again show us that Thrackan is a selfish person who only wants power and still prefers humanoids over any aliens. All together I see little new things here, and I think most of you who read more Star Wars books will think so also. If you first Star Wars books are the New Jedi Order books then you might find it interesting to meet Trackan Sal-Solo and if you like the character then I'll suggest that you read the Correlian trilogy. This e-book will be added in the second edition of Destiny's Way. Anyone who wants to read this short story but is unable to find a link to a free download can mail me. And I will mail them the story, which is 519 KB. You can print it all in case you don't like to read the whole story on a computer screen.
